چکیده

Abstract Background Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a disease with distinct management complexities as it displays remarkably heterogeneous molecular subtype. However, the landscape of angiogenesis for SCC not fully investigated. Method and materials The angiogenesis-related subtypes were established by using ConsensusClusterPlus package based on genes TCGA data. We analyzed alteration miRNAs well pathways associated subtypes. Next, regulation network, correlation genomic characteristics, immune microenvironment, clinical features further Finally, prognostic impact was also analyzed. Results A total 1368 samples included in this study. Two then identified one hundred sixty-three subtype1 (angiogenesis subtype) 951 patients subtype2 (non-angiogenesis 417 SCC. GSEA revealed that epithelial-mesenchymal transition, inflammatory response, hypoxia enriched Eight 15 checkpoints (ADORA2A, BTLA, CD276, CYBB, HAVCR2, SIGLEC7, SIGLEC9, VTCN1) significantly upregulated while C10orf54 downregulated survival analysis subtype have poorer outcomes than those non-angiogenesis ( P = 0.017 disease-free interval 0.00013 overall survival). Conclusion Our novel classification provides new insights into hallmark progression.

Role of Brg1 in progression of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective(s): Epigenetic regulation of gene expression can be carried out through chromatin remodeling enzymes such as SWI/SNF. Brg1 also known as SMARCA4 is a catalytic subunit of SWI/SNF, which is necessary for MMPs expression. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known as important player enzymes during tumor progression and metastasis. Aberrant epigenetic modification of chromatin should be...

Squamous cell carcinoma of lung with unusual site of metastasis

Background: Lung cancer ranks among the most common and most lethal malignancies worldwide. Once vascular or lymphatic invasions occur, metastatic dissemination to distant sites is common. Bone, liver, adrenals, and brain are the most frequent sites of the distant disease. In this study we present a case of squamous cell carcinoma of lung with metastasis of the left knee bursa.Case presentation...

comparative immunohistochemical analysis of angiogenesis and mast cell density in oral normal mucosa and squamous cell carcinoma

background: squamous cell carcinoma (scc) is the most common malignancy in oral cavity. angiogenesis is essential for the development and progression of scc. recently, some studies have reported that mast cells may play a role in tumor progression via promoting angiognesis. since the results of various studies on the role of mast cells in tumor progression is not uniform, the aim of this study ...

Angiogenesis and Tumor-Associated Macrophages in Different Grades of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Verrucous Carcinoma and Epithelial Dysplasia via Immunohistochemical Assessment of Expression of CD34 and CD68 Markers

Background:Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the most common malignancy of the oral cavity, which is highly invasive. Verrucous carcinoma (VC) is the low-grade form of SCC. Epithelial dysplasia (ED) also has a malignant potential. This immunohistochemical (IHC) study aimed to assess angiogenesis and the presence of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in SCC, VC and ED to determi...

Angiogenesis in oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Many retrospective studies have recently shown that microvessel density could represent a valid independent prognostic factor for overall survival and disease-free survival for primary tumours. The fact that oral tumours with a higher microvessel density showed a tendency to present distant metastasis and a bad prognosis, suggested that angiogenetic activity would play a pivotal role also in or...
